Rearranging

Being in Denver - a BIG city - gives us the opportunity to take the car in for servicing; the 90,000-mile "A" service. In addition to the regular servicing, we had two special requests. One, get help in syncing our new  phones to the Bluetooth in the car (we have tried several times to do it ourselves, to no avail) and, two, see if this dealer can figure out how to prevent the message about the "third row seats being unlocked" every time we turn on the ignition. For the past three + years we have asked every dealer we've taken the car to.

The young man who checked us in, and who moves the cars around, was able to go zip-zip and our phones were once again connected to the car's Bluetooth. The other problem, third row seats, could not even be addressed. Our Service Advisor came to talk to us about it and said that because we have so much stuff in the back, they could not really get in there to diagnose the problem. We accepted that because its true!; the back of our car is our food pantry. ( And it's also where we carry our extra hitch jack.)

We have been traveling with the third row seats folded down so that we have a broad deck on which to put our stuff. A push of a button will cause the third row to automatically fold down or raise up to the upright position. We suspected that the sensors back there don't like all the weight that we have on the folded down seats so this afternoon we set out to correct this problem. Here's the back of the car before and...

after. The big difference is that now the third row seats are in the upright position and we have stuffed all our supplies, food and otherwise, between the second and third row seats. The only things that are in the back now are our hiking gear which we access pretty much every day. (Our hiking boots are in the white Apple bag.) The reward for this new arrangement is that we no longer get the third row seat warning. Yeah!!
