Colorado Springs to Denver

We've arrived in Denver, well, technically Wheat Ridge, our final stop for the "winter" season. We have arrived with summer-like weather; today we had temperatures in the 80s. To be fair this morning started out clear and mild in Colorado Springs, the first clear day we've had all week. The drive to Denver - 88 miles - was pleasant and very Colorado-like.

Just as we were passing through Colorado Springs we caught glimpses of Pike's Peak. We had intended to hike around there but the weather never cooperated.

On the opposite side of I-25 was this interesting formation.

Just at the northern edge of Colorado Spring is the Air Force Academy with its iconic Chapel and...

football stadium.

Down the road is Castle Rock, both the formation and the city.

Wheat Ridge is a suburb west of Denver with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop.
