Sulphur Mountain

A series of switchbacks, I counted 23, up the slopes of Sulphur Mountain provides a great workout and one of the highest elevation gain hikes we take in the Canadian Rockies. It also provides breathtaking mountain views from the top.

The town of Banff, the Bow River and Tunnel Mountain - the little bump in the bottom left of the picture.

Enjoying the lunch view from the Observation deck.

Town of Banff.

Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel with Bow River Falls.

Looking north up the Bow River Valley.

Along the slopes of Sulphur Mountain the trail passes  under the tram (about 10 times) that provides another way to the top.

Today's hike:
Length - 7.08 miles
Duration - 3 hours, 49 minutes (including lunch)
Elevation gain - 2,210 feet (234 floors on the Fitbit)
