Boom Lake

A pleasant trail, albeit a bit muddy, that lead us through a picturesque forest to a large alpine lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. We heard a wood-pecker tap, tap, tapping on a tree, and a marmot "whistling" among the rocks, but no "booms".  You can enjoy this beautiful mountain lake and not even be bothered by mosquitos!

Lunch spot. We're actually sitting on boulder in a talus field. There were quite a few people enjoying the lake and we tried to find a spot that gave us a little space.

Lunch view.

Other views looking...

up and...

down the lake.

Small treat along the trail. Maybe Smallflowered Anemone?

Today's hike:
Length - 6.85 miles
Duration - 3 hours, 43 minutes (including lunch)
Elevation gain - 800 feet (80 floors on the Fitbit)
