Sundance Canyon Trail - 2016

A longish trail along the Bow River with not much elevation gain followed by a moderately difficult trail that loops through a water-filled canyon. Perfect for an over-cast Sunday adventure.

Heading out in a westerly direction along the river.

Steep wall of Sundance Canyon. Notice the bridge at the top of the cascade.

Our lunch spot alongside Sundance Creek - above the cascade.

From the high-point on the trail, the Bow Valley was visible from this overview.

We think we have identified today's wildflower as Birdsfoot Trefoil. Maybe yes, maybe no.

Heading back east along the River. Looks a lot like the first picture, only we're going in the opposite direction.

Frederick and Mount Rundle.

Some wild roses along the trail.

As we have mentioned before, the wild rose is the Provincial flower of Alberta.

Today's hike:
Length - 6.58 miles
Duration - 3 hours, 4 minutes (including lunch)
Elevation gain - 650 feet (70 floors on the Fitbit)

Celebrate with us a milestone - over 20,000 page views of this blog since inception! We're pleased!!
