Moon over Mount Rundle and another take on Lake Minnewanka

Today we celebrate the Summer Solstice. Here in Banff, the sun rose at 5:27 a.m. and sets at 10:01 p.m.. Lots of daylight and it was a beautiful day to enjoy!

We spent the morning trying to get our accounts for the New York Times and the NY Times Puzzles all straightened out. Technology is miraculous when it works, but when something goes awry. it can be like trying to de-tangle a bowl of spaghetti. After getting everything to work we were ready to hit the trail.

Last night the moon was almost full and Frederick took this picture of the moon rounding Mount Rundle.

We went over to Lake Minnewanka and took another hike along the northeastern shore (see blog for June 4). There were a few high clouds but the lake was beautiful, so still and quiet that the wake of the tour boat is clearly visible.

At the far end of the lake, at the half-way point of the hike, Frederick crosses the bridge to return to the marina and picnic area.

Today's hike:
Length - 10.55 miles
Duration - 3 hours, 48 minutes
Elevation gain - 970 feet (99 floors on the Fitbit)
