Bow River Falls

We got tired of waiting for the rain to clear so today we put on our full rain gear and headed out on the Surprise Corner Trail across the road (opposite direction from the Hoodoos) and hiked down the hill, Tunnel Mountain, to see the Falls and to stop in at the kitchen store downtown. It continues cold, high of 48º and a low of 34º. Tomorrow, although the forecast is for clear skies, the temperature is supposed to be 50º and a low of 30º. Well, it's still spring!

Bow River Falls in the rain with the Banff Springs Hotel in the background. The water in the foreground looks as if it could be snow.

Everytime we drive into town we pass by this construction project - high-end residences, we think. Today when we walked by we noticed the porta-potties. Looks as if it's a mixed gender work site.

Today's hike:
Length - 5.69 miles
Duration - 3 hours 48 minutes (including lunch and a stop in the kitchen store - which was way longer than the stop for lunch)
Elevation gain -  410 feet ( 42 floors on the Fitbit)
