Fuel Injectors

Oh, one other thing about yesterday. When we got in the car to drive the hour and a half back to Banff, the "Check Engine" light came on. We immediately called the Mercedes Benz dealer in Calgary, we have used them at least once each of the past two summers, and fortunately were able to schedule an appointment for this morning.

Fuel injectors #1 & #2 needed to be replaced; we had replaced #5 in Flagstaff in April. They had the parts in stock and were able to complete the work, clean the car inside and out, by 5 p.m. We were thrilled and relieved. The only issue is, we do have an extended warranty on the car but it is with Mercedes Benz U.S.A. MB Canada is completely different so we had to pay for the repair and will have to fuss with MB U.S.A. to be reimbursed. That and losing a day on the trail!

Michael Jennings was our Service Consultant and, as always, we had a very pleasant experience dealing with MB service. There was a "quiet" lounge, the one with the TV was at the other end of the room, and great internet service. We were able to get a lot of travel planning done using fast internet - what a pleasure. We also met another couple who have a Winnebago RV on a Mercedes chassis who were waiting for service. He showed me how to use a new trip planning tool. They are going up to Jasper next week and we will see them there.
