Driving to Jasper National Park

We left Banff in the smoke from the Egypt Lake fire and it took quite a while to drive out of the smoke, past Lake Louise.  Even then we didn't completely escape it.

Driving up the Bow Valley just north of Banff.

Castle Mountain, half way to Lake Louise.

Almost to the Icefield Parkway Visitor Center.

Glacier just before Athabasca Glacier.

Athabasca Glacier

Just after Athabasca Glacier

Heading up through Jasper National Park - the mountains look quite different from the ones around Banff.

Just past the Icefieds Visitor Center we encountered a "bear jam". There she is, escaping into the the trees. She actually has a cub in tow.

We we arrived at our campsite in Whistlers Campground I mentioned that the grass needed cutting. Sure enough, in a half hour and mowing crew came through.
