Quarterly

Tomorrow we return to Canada, this time to go to London, Ontario, and CanAm RV for some warranty work on the Airstream. CanAm is where we bought the Airstream and where we received instruction on how to operate all the systems and how to live in an RV. Frederick and I had never been camping in anything but a tent so we needed lots of help which we received at CanAm. CanAm also reviewed all the routine maintenance that we are responsible for. We were told that our new Airstream had a "clear coat" finish on the aluminum skin and that to keep it from getting cloudy we should wax the skin a few times a year; quarterly being the optimum duration.

We want to show that we are taking good care of our Airstream and because the last time we put a coating on the Airstream was in early July, just before we left for Newfoundland, it was now time to apply another coating. Of course it's a two step process - first wash the Airstream then you can apply the polish.

There is one major hurdle that has to be overcome in order to complete this process. Most campgrounds have a policy of not allowing the washing of cars or RVs. For the past several weeks we have been asking the campground office if they have a policy that permits washing and for the past several weeks we have been told, "No." But yesterday we lucked out. When we checked in we asked and the woman said she didn't see why we couldn't. We were on!

Today was a perfect day for this operation. The sky was clear blue and the temperature was in the low 60s. First we did a quick wash of the Benz and then on to the Airstream. In less then two hours we were ready to apply the polish.

Polish applied and all ready for the buffing cloth.

The final result; just like new again. It is also a good opportunity to examine the skin to see if there are scratches or dents.

When we were done, we drove the twenty minutes to Kathryn's house where we were able to enjoy a fabulous dinner and several great games of Uno.

Roasted pork with balsamic fig sauce and roasted rosemary potatoes and tomatoes.

Happy Uno players.

After Uno it was on to Jenga.

Jacob executing a delicate maneuver.

Grandpa completing his turn.

Kathryn hoping to keep it balanced.

And failing.
