Apple pie

It was a good day to catch up on a number tasks that have to be done but are not exciting and are easy to put off. Like laundry and cleaning the Airstream. The weather was perfect, overcast and drizzly at times, but no heavy rains that would make it difficult to move laundry from the car to the laundromat, then back to the car and home. We now have clean clothes for another few weeks.

The highlight of our day, was a visit to Providence and dinner with good friends Bill and Cheryl Simmons. The most notable observation about Providence were all the political yard signs. I saw one for “Buddy” - Buddy Cianci, the twice convicted felon who is once again running for Mayor of Providence with, perhaps, a good chance of winning. I also saw several signs for Catherine Taylor for Lieutenant Governor. Catherine and Rob Taylor are friends who we know from a number of different circumstances - parents of Nate, a good friend of Peter’s; Rob was Chairman of the Board of Trustees (still is) at the Providence Public Library; and, we went to the same church, St. Sebastian’s.  Good luck Catherine!

The best part of the day was visiting with Bill and Cheryl and enjoying a fine meal, especially the delicious apple pie prepared by Cheryl. It was good to catch up with them and hear about their lives over the past six months. We had fun telling them about our travels in Canada and our home life in 220 square feet.

Thank you, Bill and Cheryl. It was a most enjoyable evening!
