Established in 1759

A couple of times, when we have talked to people on the road, we have been given their "business" card that will have contact information and a little bit about their traveling lifestyle. And several times we have been in a position when we would have liked to have something to give to people that we meet, something that will have, at the least, the blog address. Suz and Scott recommended iPrint as a source for personalized cards at a good price.

In looking at the site with Suz and Scott last night, we determined that we would like to include a picture of our rig as a unique identifier for who we are. We would also have the blog address, phone numbers and WBCCI number. Today I looked through some of our past photos and could not find a decent shot of the Airstream and Benz together. I went outside to take a picture and discovered that there is a tree right next to our site that intrudes too much on a picture of our rig.  We'll have to wait until we get ready to move and maybe find a better spot in this campground for an unobstructed picture.

This is one of the best of the pictures that I took this afternoon. See the big tree and the late afternoon shadows? We'll have to do better.

Speaking of campgrounds, we moved closer to Providence today and are now located at the Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Pretty fancy name and they have some pretty fancy facilities to go along with the name. I would imagine that it would be a great place to come to with a family in the summer months. The most interesting thing about it for us is that they post on a sign that they were founded in 1759 by the Daniels family. 1759??!! I wonder what kinds of rigs they had back then.

The highlight of the day was traveling to Providence and meeting our friends Mary and Renn Olenn for dinner. They were able to tell us about their fabulous vacation to western Canada and we talked about eastern Canada. We kind of have the Canada-thing covered.

We met at Pizzico on Hope Street in Providence - not too far from where we used to live.

This is Ashley, our server. She laughed when I asked her if I could take her picture. She said, "Usually people ask me to take their picture." I told her to just wait, we would do that too.

And when we did, this was the result. Everyone, please meet Mary and Renn Olenn (On the right. That's us on the left).

  1. Try and get a picture first thing in the morning, the shadows as well as the light will be different. What kind of Salmon did you have for dinner?
