Horse in the tree

New Jersey is a pretty unique state, in order to go north, to Blairstown, from Clarkesboro in the south, you go west through Pennsylvania.  Sometimes it takes a real leap of faith to follow the GPS, but in this case, it worked fairly well.  This morning we headed south, then west around Philadelphia, north to Allentown before heading east back into New Jersey, then north through some pretty small towns to this fairly remote campground outside of Blairstown.

As you might have guessed by now, today was a travel day.  We are now at the Triplebrook RV and Camping Resort which is located in the beautiful rolling and wooded hills of northwestern New Jersey.  It appears that most of the other campers here are families that are here for a week or more.  There is lots for the kids to do and it is really nice for the parents because they can just let their kids go out and explore without having to worry about traffic.  There is good security and you can only get in with a security card which is issued to you when you arrive.

We are here because the geo-site for New Jersey is the Palisades and there are not too many campgrounds closer to New York City.  We will drive in tomorrow.

The service plaza in Pennsylvania.  I think this is the first service plaza we have stopped at since our trip down to Florida.

There we are, parked between two of our favorite trucks. Sams and a Werner truck.  Peter and Suzanne know what a Werner truck means to us.

Our campsite at Triplebrook.

For some strange reason, the campground has this horse posed in a tree.

The old farmhouse on the grounds. Notice the stone foundation and chimney.

There is a little "farm" for the children to enjoy.  Handsome rabbit.

Adolescent chickens.

Some ducks.

One curious goat.

Two other curious goats.

Contented cows.

When we walked back past this goat I noticed it has only one horn.

This is a very small pony; perhaps only thirty inches tall. At one point he came over to the fence to see us and got himself tangled up in a wire that was strung too loosely about six inches from the ground.  Frederick and I had to rescue him before he got himself all cut up from the wire.

Two swimming pools; one for adults only.

Long view of the pony and the little farm yard. The wire was strung below the bottom fence rail.

Nice flowers.

I'm not quite sure how to achieve this speed.
