Milestone

Naples has been our 1st Airstreaming goal for several months and today we made it. It's not that it is pretty far south on the Florida peninsula, we still have further south to go, but it is the place where we have planned a one week stay. During this week we will rough out our travel plans for the next few weeks and months and get the Airstream into traveling shape. There are still some features and processes we have yet to try.  For instance, today is the first time that we have deployed our awnings. There is a big awning on the side that forms a type of patio at the side of the Airstream. Then there is an awning for the back window, side bedroom widow and a largish one over the dining area windows. The front window has a tinted rock screen that serves as an awning.  It is good to deploy the awnings because it helps keep the inside cool.

We are at the Crystal Lake RV Resort on the recommendation of a lifelong friend of Renn  Olenn, Dick Waite. Mary had emailed him back at the beginning of November and we have been anticipating this stay for a long time. Everyone here is very friendly and we look forward to exploring the Fort Myers/Naples area.

This evening we had dinner on our patio and heard a music/singing concert from across the lake. Frederick made the comment that it is the warmest April 1st he has experienced.
