Falcon 9

Space Coast is what this area of Florida is called and that is the name of the RV Park we are at for 4 days, through Sunday. Titusville is the name of the city where Cape Canaveral is located and we are just 25 miles from the Kennedy Space Center. We are pretty excited because when we checked in the lady told us that there is a "launch" tomorrow. From the website -

Date: April 18, 2014 -- 3:25 p.m. Eastern
Mission: SpaceX-3 Commercial Resupply Flight to the International Space Station
Description: Launching from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. on a Falcon 9 rocket, the SpaceX-3 resupply mission will deliver 4,969 pounds of cargo to the orbiting laboratory and return 3,578 pounds to Earth.

We got directions for the best viewing sites and we now hope that the weather will cooperate so we can get a good view of the launch.

I like this campground. Our neighbors to the right are from New Hampshire and their daughter went to UMass Dartmouth. He appears to be a baseball fan.

A little piece of home in  Florida.

Today is Holy Thursday so we went to church services at the local Catholic Church, St. Mary's. We really lucked out because it is a very lively congregation. Some of the readings were in both English and Spanish and at the washing of the feet there was a newborn, two weeks old tomorrow, who participated. It seemed like half the congregation had some role to play in the service.

One of the pieces of information about this area states that it is the most bio-diverse place in the U.S. So far I've only taken one picture of wildlife in the park.

This little guy was just outside our door and didn't even run away when I came out to take his picture.
