Kaus

Today is a moving/transition day.  We are on our way from Alpine Helen in Georgia to Charleston on the South Carolina coast via Lynchburg, SC. Tonight we are staying at the Magnolia RV Park in Kinards/Joanna, South Carolina.  We are getting great wi-fi connection. It has been raining off-and-on-again all day.  Mostly when it rains there is a huge downpour and then it stops.  Everyone here is happy to see the rain because they say it has been dry for over a month.

Before we finish with Alpine Helen, there is one more picture I would like to share.  We noticed these cows the first day we came to town before we knew the history of Helen.  Now we know that these are kaus!

Bucolic scene.

We have now left Georgia and are in South Carolina.  We crossed to border at about 1 pm so we stopped at the Welcome Center, picked up some brochures on Charleston, and had our lunch.

South Carolina Welcome Center.

You can just catch a glimpse of the lake in the background.

At a rest stop on I-26.  There were a row of vending machines behind bars with this sign.
