Back again

We left Charleston this morning and are half way to Asheville, North Carolina. It turns out that Kinards, South Carolina is at about the half way mark so, for the first time, we are staying at a campground that we stayed at before.  A little over a week ago we stayed here on our way to Charleston. Since it is cold today, in the 50s, and it has been raining, there are not many people in this small campground.

Since it is not only a moving day but also just a transition day (we are moving on again tomorrow morning and we did not unhitch), there was little opportunity to take interesting photos. I thought what I would do is take a few of this campground to give you an idea of what some of them look like.  As I said, this is a small campground, most of the ones we stay at are much larger.

Many campground have little cabins similar to this that are available to rent.

Cute.  I wonder what they look like inside?

Shadow of me taking a picture of our rig - still hitched.

A nice little garden across the street from the campground office.

A pair of benches in the garden.  The older couple who operate this campground obviously like to garden and care about their property.

Nice pool beside the office. Most campgrounds that we stay at have a pool.

And there is usually a playground area.  A place for the kids to run and climb after being cooped up driving all day.

  1. Looks like a well maintained camp. So, my big question. Do you use the campsite shower or your own?

    1. So far, we have always used the campground facilities for showers. It is very efficient. We walk over to the showers together and can both shower at the same time. No sequencing for us! We use our shower as a closet. It is where we keep the vacuum, my embroidery frame and light (bulky), and our shower baskets. If I wash my hair, I wash it in the shower and then come back to use the hair dryer and hot rollers in the Airstream.
