Overlook and Sailboat Cove Trails

West Lakeshore Trail is too long for us to hike it in just one day, so our plan is to hike it in chunks. There are several trailheads along west shore, so we will drive to a different one each day and do an out-and-back hike from trailhead to trailhead.

This is a picture of the lake from what is called the Double Arch Island Overlook.  I cannot explain the name.

This is not a level trail along the shore. There are frequent drops down in dry arroyos and then the climb back out. This is the bottom of an arroyo with willow trees, that look more like shrubs,  that will soon leaf out.

We also passed by colorful eroding cliff sides.

Today's hike:
Length - 3.95 miles
Duration - 1 hour, 35 minutes
Elevation gain - 360 feet (39 floors on the Fitbit)
