Our Own Backyard

It was a beautiful afternoon, so after a morning of laundry (the RV park has a lovely laundry room) we headed out along our beach to the north end. We had been told that if we continued on at the end of our beach it would take us to a trail that went along the shore to a regional park. That's what we did and it was beautiful.

I didn't take any pictures until the way back. Here we are in the forest of the Devonian Regional Park.

A small rocky inlet along the shore. We alternated between being down on the shore and up along the edge of the cliffs, in the woods.

The trail skirts private property and this house reminded us of our neighbors in Providence, Lance and Angela Bay's house.

This is our headland from a more full southern view. Those are Washington's Olympic Mountains in the clouds.

The real find on this hike were these wildflowers - at this time of year!

They looked to me to be cyclamen..,

miniature cyclamen.

Even the colors seemed right.

And, the foliage.

Back along our beach with a row of RVs to the right - out of sight.

Our headland with just a glimpse of the Olympic Mountains - where we will be tomorrow.
