Computer Upgrade

In addition to the melodrama of yesterday's blizzard, the check-engine light came on during the crawl back home from the Grand Canyon. I guess it's because we depend so much on our vehicle, not only to get around but to tow our home, when something like this happens it really throws me into a dither. (Not that driving in a blizzard isn't excitement enough!) Actually, I was pretty cool about the disruption, it's the third time this has happened to us. The first time was when we were at Devil's Tower. The second, when we were in Jasper National Park in Canada. And this third time, at the Grand Canyon.  I wonder what type of vibe the car picks up at National Parks? The issue turns out to be the software in the Benz's computer. So, once again, our computer was updated and we were on our way.  We hope this doesn't happen again (3rd time's a charm?)

We were lucky this time - we were only 30 miles from the closest Mercedes-Benz Dealer in Flagstaff. The first time we had to drive across the state of South Dakota, 300+ miles, to find a dealer in Sioux Falls. That time we had to stay overnight. When we were in Jasper, we drove down to Spokane and took the opportunity to see Marlene and her family. Today it was just a quick drive to Flagstaff, a stop at the big supermarket in town, then back home by early afternoon. I spent the rest of the day making soup. Bright Angel Trail will have to wait until tomorrow.

This dealership has to have the best view out of the showroom of any in the country - the San Francisco Mountains.

This is Tina Wofford, our Service Adviser. She was great and very knowledgeable plus efficient.

View from the dealership. The San Francisco Mountains with Mt. Humphries in the back with a fresh layer of snow.

Soups made today:
Golden Peanut
Wheat Berry Chili
Tortilla Soup
