Whistler

We went into Whistler Village to visit the Visitor Information Center to get information about area trails and the location of the biggest supermarket. Whistler is very up-scale and European in layout. There are only pedestrian walkways and vehicle parking is in large lots on the periphery.

We got lots of trail information and visited the supermarket then headed out to find the selected trail. After traveling a ways down a logging road which we thought would take us to a trailhead, the dirt road got narrower and narrower. We decided to turn around, not only because of the road but because it was beginning to rain. Tomorrow is another day.

View out our bedroom window.

On the logging road we did notice this unusual rock slide, like jumbo black french fries.

I guess it's weathered palisades that are breaking apart and cascading down the mountainside.
