It was time to take the Airstream in for some warranty reviews, so on Andy Thomson's advice, we located an authorized dealer in Fredericksburg, Stafford RV. The are fewer than 40 Airstream dealers in North America; the vast majority of them are on the west coast - California, Oregon and Washington. We got up bright and early, hitched up and arrived at Stafford's a few minutes after 9 am.
We wanted to get an extra set of keys for the Airstream, so Rick at Stafford's recommended a locksmith in Fredericksburg. We had gotten an extra set of keys when we picked up the Airstream in Canada. We bought one of those magnetic holders, put the two keys in the holder and attached it to steel between the two axles. However, a few weeks ago we checked on the case we could not find it. We were able to get a replacement for the deadbolt, which is what we use mostly, but for the door key we had to call the maker and they will send us a blank key which we will have to take to be cut at a locksmith.
Then we went to the local AAA and bought a new, 2014, road Atlas. We have been using a 2012, so it was time for an update (and the covers had fallen off.)
Kerry Knowles who helped us with travel information for the Canadian Maritimes and the Great River Road.
Then it was off to the local Food Lion for some grocery shopping. We haven't been able to go to a Publix for some time. They only have stores in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. It's hard to find a good grocery store.
After, we headed for the local Library for some internet time. I was able to download these pictures.
Salem Church Road branch library.
Finally we headed back to Stafford's to pick up the Airstream. Unexciting day, but necessary. Tomorrow is a moving day; we are heading for New Jersey, right outside of Philadelphia.
You're getting closer......shall I be on the look out for a package of keys, perhaps? Drive safe!
