Familiar Sights

Today was "race" day. Yesterday, when we checked in, a number of people were also checking in who were here for an annual race. The young woman who was with the group was planning on running 50 miles today; she said she hoped to complete the 50 miles in 9 hours.

This morning, around 7:30 am, I talked with a woman who was running a 5K and her husband was doing a 12K. She said those that were running the 50 miles left around 5:30 am. They are bused to near the Idaho border and run back to St. Regis on the Mullan Trail.

We left St. Regis this morning under cloudy skies, but that did not diminish our appreciation for the heavily wooded mountainsides that surrounded us.

Approaching Lookout Pass, after climbing to 4725, on the Montana border, we began the descent into Idaho.

Nice "Welcome"!

We picked up an hour and are now in the Pacific Time Zone for a few days.

Half-way across the Idaho Panhandle we crested 4th of July Pass.

Werner seems to have changed the color of their trucks.

4th of July Pass was only at 3,000 feet.

The Lake. Some of you may recognize the road around the far side of Coeur d'Alene Lake.

It's hard to get pictures of Coeur d'Alene Lake from I-90.

There are a few place where you can catch a glimpse.
