Route of the BNSF

Homolovi State Park was 2 miles from I-40 ( Route 66) , so we hopped on the interstate and rode it across the top of eastern Arizona into New Mexico. Tonight we are in Gallup, New Mexico, in an RV park that is located on Historic Route 66, which is a big deal in this part of the country.

Heading east we continued to climb the Colorado Plateau, hence the flat landscape.

Here it is, Interstate-40! Mostly what we see are trucks, RVs from Minnesota, and a smattering of passenger cars, but mostly trucks.

This route could also be called the route of the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad because that is what runs the length of I-40 in Arizona and New Mexico.

And here we are , back in New Mexico.

Some nice...

interesting...

colorful scenery just before Gallup.
