Hopes Fulfuilled

We moved today, from Port Angeles to Forks (more about Forks tomorrow). It wasn't very far, less than a 2 hour tow. We went very slowly because, not only was the road curvy, but it was pouring rain. I felt badly for Frederick having to do all the outside prep work in the rain; his pants were totally wet. The rain didn't stop after a few hours but kept up all day. Any pictures that we attempted to take showed only the clouds and the rain so there are no pictures for the blog from today.

Instead, we'll show pictures from a month ago, when we were in Whitehorse, YT, and I ended the blog for Monday, September 5, hoping that we would be able to see the Northern Lights that night.

We have Pat Mann to thank for these pictures; he was the "camera man" on the Caravan. On an outing he would often be seen wearing two or three cameras around his neck. Thankfully, he knew how to take pictures of the Aurora Borealis and below is the result. We have to confess that what we saw wasn't exactly what you see in the pictures. Pat used time-lapse which concentrates the color. What we saw was more like the final picture, with the white shapes constantly moving.

It was early in the season so what we saw was mostly green. The red colors come later in the year.

Enjoy Pat's pictures - a usual, they are enhanced if you click on the picture to enlarge it.
