The drive itself was beautiful. The fall color the further south we drove was less pervasive but more colorful. More vivid reds and golds. It was also a clear day with a brilliant blue sky.
We stopped at a Rest Stop outside of Concord, N.H. It was a little building with smoke curling from the chimney. Inside was this homey little fire.
We brought pumpkins for the kids, and a fall plant for Suz.
Maura liked the flowers.
Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed the afternoon with the grandkids.
Suzanne prepared a delicious dinner using Ina Garten and King Arthur Flour recipes. She also made these seasonal, fall, spritz cooks. Black spiders, orange pumpkins, of course, fall leaves, and spider's webs. Our whole family likes spritz cookies; can you tell by how many remain?
Wow, that was quick. It was great to finally visit again, see you Sunday!!
