We were greeted by musicians playing country tunes.
Ready for a fun fall afternoon.
Before we got to the apples, there were the pumpkins to check out.
In addition to apple picking, there were a number of fun activities, like this hay ride.
The first task was to find trees that had some apples. This is the last Sunday this orchard will be open to the public. The apples came about three weeks early and many of the trees were picked bare. We walked and walked looking for the trees with apples.
Finally this orchard man came to our rescue and led us to a section of the orchard that had some apples.
Success!
There were plenty of apples to pick at Nathan's level.
We even found these big bins full of apples.
This is easier than picking from a tree.
And they were good tasting apples.
Grandpa came in handy to reach the high ones.
After filling two bags of apples it was time to check out the animals.
A very large pig.
A horse with a curly coat.
Rabbits.
A tractor to drive.
Ducks on a pond. The bottom two ducks had just flown in for a landing.
Resting up for Thanksgiving.
All-in-all, it was a pretty tiring day.
Inside the store there was a line for the freshly made donuts.
The donut making machine.
Goose gourds.
Mums and pumpkins.
Dad with the apple pickers.
I will try one of those doughnuts at some point in my life. I'm determined. Thank you for capturing this all, it was a great day and I'm glad you were here to enjoy it with us.
