Cabot Trail

This afternoon turned rather stormy. It was a travel day and we were running low on a number of grocery items. Last night we researched a Sobey's supermarket that was along our route and then used Google street-view to see what the parking looked like since we would be towing our thirty foot Airstream.

All went according to plan and we are now nicely stocked-up with supplies which is good because for the next few days we will be in some rather sparsely populated areas without access to a fully stocked supermarket.

We are currently traveling along the Cabot Trail in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Tonight we are in a Parks Canada Campground, the Broad Cove Campground. Since we are fully supplied and are only staying for one night, we did not unhitch. Often, when we get to a campground, we will be able to take a short hike or explore some other local attraction. But it's raining out and we are content to just stay in our home.

Only one picture today, which is a good thing because there is only one dot on the Bell network and therefore our wifi is not very strong. There is no wifi available in this National Park. The Cabot Trail is an interesting drive. You travel from sea level to 240 meters on some pretty steep, winding and narrow roads. This picture was taken at a view-point at the top of one of these ascents, Smokey Point.
