Lamar Buffalo Ranch - 8/19/17

Our main objective for today was to drive from Butte to Yellowstone National Park and the Lamar Buffalo Ranch for the start of our program - DARK SKIES AND SOLAR ECLIPSE PHOTOGRAPHY.

The Lamar Valley is home to a rich variety of wildlife -bears, both grizzly and black, wolves, elk, antelope and, most of all, bison.

About a mile from from the Lamar Buffalo Ranch we had to wait on the road for a small herd of bison to cross the road.

My attempt at night sky photography using my camera. We also had access to telescopes and observed Saturn and its rings and Jupiter and two of its moons.
