Plain of the Six Glaciers

A classic hike for the holiday. It was a beautiful day, high in the upper 70's with the humidity at 16%.
Start of the hike- one of the most photographed Lakes (Louise) of the Canadian Rockies.

View from the other end of the Lake.

Lunch spot - the highest viewpoint of this trail. That's Lake Louise in the center.

Victoria Glacier

If you enlarge the picture you might be able to see the Abbot Pass Hut on the summit skyline.

Waterfall at the top of the steep talus slope where we ate our lunch.

Traversing the crest of a lateral moraine...

a steep ridge of debris formed during the last advance of the Victoria Glacier, which reached its zenith during the mid-1800s.

Lake Louise

When we got back to the far end of the Lake we passed these rock climbers. (You can only see them if you enlarge the picture)

Also near the end of the Lake were these patriotic Canadians rowing on the Lake.

Today's hike:
Length - 9.49 miles
Duration - 4 hours, 52 minutes
Elevation gain - 1,632 feet
