Talon Trail

For the fifth day in a  row we are enduring a late afternoon thunder storm. Our campground (both of them) is located up the side of Cheyenne Mountain and its a beautiful sight at night to see the lights of the valley below us. And, we can also witness the storms approaching up the face of the mountains and the clouds spilling over Cheyenne Peak. But, the mornings are generally okay and, at least this morning, we were able to get in a brief hike on one of the beautiful trails here in the state park.

Cheyenne Mountain from Talon Trail.

This time of year, it seems, more people come to mountain bike than to hike. and the Talon Trail is especially beautiful for biking. There's my favorite hiker leading the way.

After our hike we left for the Apple Store where I had a class on the basics of the Apple Watch. I'm glad we had our little hike this morning because we were able to try out the "outdoor walk" exercise on the Workout app on the watch. And, hooray!, because the pictures finished uploading to the Cloud, Frederick was able to work with the Apple technician at the Genius Bar to download all those pictures to an external hard drive. Next step, deleting the pictures from the computer.

Of course, after the visit to Apple we finally went to Costco!

Today's hike:
Length - 2.49 miles
Duration - 53 minutes
Elevation gain - 210 feet (32 floors on the Fitbit)
