We stopped at a Rest Stop in eastern Ohio - your basic rest stop.
But we did notice that Ohio feels no need to lock up their snack machines behind bars.
West Virginia has a funny little tail that protrudes up into Ohio along the western edge of Pennsylvania. This is a bridge that crosses the Ohio River that is the border between Ohio and West Virginia.
We travelled 14 miles in West Virginia before we entered Pennsylvania.
And about another 50 miles before we re-entered West Virginia. That's what the sign above says - Welcome to West Virginia - only I'm taking the picture looking into the sun.
This is Jim Brown who works at the West Virginia Welcome Center. We stopped to ask the best way to get from Morgantown, where we are this evening, to Seneca Rocks. Jim said that Seneca Rocks is his favorite spot in West Virginia and was able to give us directions without any hesitation.
Tonight we are in Morgantown which is very much a college town and there is a huge medical facility very near our hotel. It's very interesting, the roads run through the valleys and the stores and houses are all up on the surrounding hills. We are definitely not along the gulf coast!
