To safely leave the Airstream we will "winterize" it. Even though we don't expect extended sub-freezing weather, it can get below freezing here and we don't want to return to burst plumbing. The other suggested step is to wash and polish the Airstream.
The next two days will be busy as we prepare to leave our home.
The Mystic Springs Cove Campground is an Airstreams-only park. The Hosts, who are on-site, are Stan and Ann, and they have this nifty shelter for their Airstream. Since we are newbies, Stan has been very helpful with the procedures for draining all our tanks and lines. That is the hallmark of RVers; they will go out of their way to help in any way they can. It is a wonderful community!
There are several Airstreams on-site that are bing stored here, including this 1952 vintage Airstream.
After the tanks and lines are cleared, we will pump antifreeze into the plumbing.
The Airstream has been washed and is just waiting for the polish. Notice the rock-screens are open so that we can clean behind these stainless-steel guards.
