Museum building.
Look Nathan! -- outside the museum is an engine from the Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal and Railroad Co, the first steam railroad in Florida and one of the first in the U.S., opening in 1836. You will notice that there is a "cow catcher" on the front, but no snow plow on this engine.
On the grounds of the Museum is the Constitution Convention State Memorial Monument commemorating the site and birth of the state of Florida (1838).
There was a picnic table on the grounds which provided a pleasant place to eat our lunch. After, it was off to the library.
Foiled again - closed on Wednesday. When we asked at the adjacent County Court House if there was a nearby Starbucks, all we evoked was a laugh and directions to the nearest McDonalds.
This morning, in the campground, the crew was out moving the shifting sand out of the road.
I was told that this sidewalk, which runs behind the campsites and connects to the washrooms, was just poured two weeks ago. The young man on the right is from Indiana; West Lafayette.
After this day of minor disappointments it seems appropriate to introduce you to someone who always puts a smile on our face.
This is Rivet, our Airstream mascot. A creation of our wonderful sister-in-law, Josie, Rivet has been keeping us company and taking care of the Airstream since October. Who wouldn't smile at such an appealing face?
We also put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. For the past five days we have been enjoying Christmas music that Frederick downloaded onto an iPod which provides over 17 hours of enjoyment.
