Caravaners - One More Time

We drove through quite a variety of landscapes today, from the high plateau and desert dry "Arizona" of British Columbia in Cache Creek, through Marble Canyon, along the Fraser River to the lofty peaks of the Cayoosh Range of the Coast Mountains. Seven miles out of Cache Creek we turned southwest on Highway #99, a skinny, red-line highway with steep grades of 13% to 15% and hairpin curves with 12-mph speed limits and frequent runaway truck lanes, all the way to Whistler, where we are camped this evening and will be for the next two days.

What are the chances of this happening? As we made the turn onto #99, turning just before us we could see another Airstream. We caught up and determined that it was the Tutens, Charlie (he was the Totem Pole in the Farewell Banquet skits) and Peggy (the retired librarian). It took quite a while before they could find a place to pull over, but as we passed through a 1-lane tunnel under the railway, there was a large gravel turn-out where we both stopped for a visit. It was great to be able to see our fellow Caravaners one more time. They were only going as far as Pemberton while we were going on to Whistlers, so we said good-bye.

12 miles along #99 we passed the Graymont Pavilion Plant that produces a range of lime and limestone products.

We all have to live somewhere!

    1. No!!! We would have if we had know that there were some. Mr. Spock was sleeping at the time, I'm sure he would have told us if he had been awake.
