Prom night

As mentioned in an earlier post, the Prospect RV Park is adjacent to the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt, a multi-use open space and parks area. At the end of our day being inside, the Greenbelt beckoned.

Newly leafed trees and the sound of rushing water. Very restorative.

About a half mile down the trail, heading west, we came upon this rather artificial-looking island that  serves as a home and nesting site for the local flock of Double-Crested Cormorants. Their two main activities are fishing and resting. Here you can see the nesters in the tree and on the ground. Both mates work on the nest. The male brings most of the material and the female does the building.

It's Prom night and these excited teens are all decked out and ready for a fun evening. But first, pictures in the park!

Day Three at National Jewish Health

A fairly light day.

First up was an Esophagram, a test that evaluates the esophagus, the tube that goes from the throat to the stomach. The study was completed in radiology.

The requirement for adults was no solid foods 4 hours prior to the procedure. Since I didn't feel like eating at 5:30 a.m., I let the hospital provide breakfast - two cups of barium, something fizzy (small cups) and a barium pill in the tall glass to the left. Yummy!

Following the Esophagram, I had another session with Cheryl, one of the Respiratory Care Practitioners (RPC). Cheryl is the one who introduced me to the AerobiKa on Wednesday. I'm getting much better at the "up and out" process, it's very encouraging.

After a consultation with Dr. Kasperbauer, it was 3:30 p.m., and we were free to go home, but first...

a stop in the library which happens to be located right below my room on the First Floor.  This is the stack area and there is a nice sunny, light, bright reading area with lounge chairs. I think we will be visiting here again.

  1. Leave it to you to find the library, some things never change. Have a good Mother's Day weekend! We love you
