We are back in Banff at the Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court where we have electric, water and sewer hook-ups. For the past week, at Kicking Horse, we had no hook-ups, and while the solar panels kept our batteries charged in the early part of the week, when the weather turned and it was cloudy and rainy they were not able to do their job. In fact, on Thursday morning, during the thunder storm, our battery level went to zero which means we had no lights or anything that runs on electricity. Since we don't have a generator, Frederick hooked-up the Airstream to the car and was able to charge our house batteries fairly quickly, at least to 60%. It is really nice to have electricity, especially to power the Dyson heater. It has been cold and rainy, the high today was only 55 degrees, and the Dyson keeps us nice and warm and toasty.
After we checked in and hooked up we went on a short hike, the same one we went on the first day we moved into Banff back on June 16th. It is also the first hike we went on when Peter and Vian visited us. Today there were elk in the meadows and no mosquitos by the Bow River.
The beautiful Bow River as it passes through Banff.
Bow River Falls, bottom of the picture, and the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. You might also notice some clouds. It poured rain on our hike home, but we had planned ahead and were wearing rain gear. Its nice to be back in Banff - and to have electricity.
ALMOST as beautiful as Providence in March lol
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this is stunning!
