Nice way to say good-bye as we drove out of the RV park this Sunday morning.
Two hundred miles later we had gone from desert-like landscape to hills and trees. This evening we are in Junction, Texas, which is just that - a place where a number of highways cross. There is also a Texas A & M campus in town. Adjacent to town is the South Llano River State Park. We drove the seven miles out of town to see is we could get some exercise.
With just 10 minutes to spare, before the Park Headquarters closed at 4:30 p.m., we used our Texas State Park pass to get a daily permit and a trail guide. We opted for the Fawn Trail which is longer that 2.8 miles if you begin in the parking lot.
The definition of primitive is a little different here than it was in Big Bend National Park.
Pretty typical of the trail. It was a good end-of-day hike.
You've been on the road for a year and it looks and sounds like you're still enjoying the travel and learning about each area of the country you've chosen to explore. Your readers are all beneficiaries as you share those experiences with us. Thanks, Judy S.
