Benefits of a big city

While we are in the Austin area we are taking care of some needed/required attention to our moving home. Today the Airstream went in for a few warranty and one recall item and tomorrow the Benz is having its 40,000 mile servicing. We can do both of these maintenance items in Austin and since we will soon be heading into areas of the country where there are fewer big cities, it seemed like now is a good time for this work.

No hike, and no sightseeing, although we may go out for a walk later this evening to check out the stars.

Here are two pictures of the Airstream back at home. We had to get up early, hitch up, deliver the Airstream to the Service department then return to McKinney Falls State Park and un-hitch again. It's good practice for us.

This spacious site is one of the reasons why we like state parks for camping.

The first night we were here there was a tent camper in the site next to us but they moved out on Monday morning. Since then we have been in splendid isolation.

Here is a picture of the Texas State Capitol building in downtown Austin. Remember that it is just a few feet higher than the U.S. Capitol building.

We are in the process of planning our summer in the western Canadian provinces. If any of you have any "must sees" for us, please let us know. We will probably spend most of our time in Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Waterton Lakes/Glacier but we will also be in Calgary and any other places that will be worthwhile seeing. We would love your suggestion
