We like Calgary!

We're back from a three day trip to Calgary. We were supposed to be gone for only two days, but the Mercedes Benz dealer did not have the rotor and break pads for our car so he had to have them sent overnight and we had to stay another night. Now we are back in time to prepare for a big change in the weather. Right now it is in the 70s, but the forecast is for temperatures around 30 degrees tonight with some snow possible overnight.

Before we left the park on Wednesday, we hiked to Lineham Creek Falls and on the road back we came upon this female big-horn sheep. She wouldn't let us pass and she wouldn't run into the woods on the side of the road. So we had to follow her for almost a mile before...

she found the right spot for her exit.

We then went around a corner of the road and there was a male. He let us pass and kept right on walking down the side of the road.

Here's Jesse, our Service Advisor at the Calgary Mercedes Benz. He was very pleasant and even gave us 10% off our bill because of the inconvenience.

There they are - our new front wheel rotor and break pad and...

our new tires. Since we spend so much of our time on the road we feel these maintenance items are critical. We now feel better about our safety.

On the way back to Waterton Lakes National Park, a 2 1/2 hour drive, we passed through Nanton, Alberta, where there is an Air Museum.

These two planes certainly got our attention!

As did this monster tractor with field implements driving down the major highway. Along the drive home we passed through mostly wheat fields on the flat prairie. When we looked to the right, there were the Rocky Mountains. There doesn't seem to be such of a transition from plains to peaks.
